Lately on Instagram...

In the beginning.....the start of some pretty cakes at layering stage.

A random picture of an elderly couple that made my heart smile! So in love and so caring of each other.

The start of a flower cascading cake. I loved making this cake for the beautiful Jenna and Luke. First time I'd ever made one of these. All tiers were uneven height which made for such a dramatic look.

Ahhh a boy cake. I do love making boys cakes. It's a rare occurrence. I'm not sure why. Boys eat cake don't they?? A WWE cake for one of lovely customers.

Flashback Friday. This still goes down as one of my most favourite and memorable cakes. I made this back in 2011 for Kelli and Les who's wedding was Dr Seuss themed!! I saw the happily married couple only a couple of weeks ago and their expecting twins!! Girls to. Mmmmm I wonder what themed wedding they might have hehehehe.

Some pretty little pastel baby shower cakes for one of my previous brides expecting her second child. I feel kind of lucky to remain a part of their lives if only in the form of cake!! PS Congratulations Mark and Allysha on the safe arrival of your beautiful little girl Sienna xx

One of my clever students made this cake at the Big Cakes 101 course. I love seeing the end results of their work.

Big Cakes 102 brought a bit of stress to all involved......Square cakes can be a little frustrating, but the end results were amazing. I do love teaching!

Naked hot vanilla cakes. Sounds kind of sexy when you say it out loud!!!

Said bye to my gorgeous nephew "Jacobean" who leaves us to start his new adventure in Brisbane :-( I miss you already xx

It's been such a roller coaster time lately both personally and professionally. Instagram is a way for me to capture both these moments. I love capturing the little things and big things that go on in my life.

Happy Snaps!!

I do love it when people send in their happy snaps. I just love seeing people enjoying them, makes it all worth it. Sheridan, who recently had her Casino themed 21st, just posted these on Happy Cakes Facebook, couldn't resist sharing them. I have to admit I love the one of Sheridan's niece. Apparently she was sprung getting into her second happy cake in this photo! Luckily I gave you a few extra gluten free ones Sheridan!!

She ruined her sister's cupcakes.....

A little while ago I created some cakes for Renee. Actually I made some cakes for Renee's sister, but you could have been mistaken for thinking they were for her. I've previously mentioned that she is my most fussy, decisive, funny, lovely, gorgeous customer, who I now just adore. This now brings me to Kylie. Kylie phoned me a couple of weeks and ago and basically said she could outdo Renee. Game on I thought!! When we first spoke, she told me that all she has ever wanted was cupcakes for her birthday. No pressure I thought. Like Renee, she was very specific about what she wanted. Pretty, girly, cute, short black hair, "poo" swirl, pink, white, maltese shitzu, grey ears, black eyes, and so on. I think the thing that scared me the most was during one of our conversations, she said to me that, now I can't remember her age at the time (quite young though), it was her sister's birthday and she had a caterpiller for a cake, it was one that was made out of cupcakes. She went on to say that she got jealous of her sister having had cupcakes and not her, so she squashed them all!! By now I'm thinking I have a princess on my hands!! But just like Renee, she was nice, funny, gorgous and lovely. Another customer who I think I totally adore!
I received this e-mail from her this afternoon, I hope you don't mind me posting it Kylie??!! It's just nice to hear lovely things said about my little happy cakes. I'm just so happy that they were loved.
