So my daughter celebrated her 11th birthday over the long weekend and well, there was no getting out of making a cake for her 😄
She requested sunshine, pineapples and flamingos!!! I wanted to do something with buttercream rather then ganache and fondant. Besides who doesn't love a good buttercream cake!! I also wanted to use cookies as the decorations rather then making fondant ones. I've seen a few cakers use cookies round the place, but one caker who I've admired for quite some time does it do well that I couldn't resist recreating one of her designs. So design credit for this cake goes to Spoon and Fork. I do love the end result of this cake and it tasted delish!! Happy birthday Paigey xx

Happy Smurfday!
A very last minute order for one of my most loveliest customers aka my newly adopted sister Stacey!! Under the pump this week as it was, but how could I say know when Stacey's daugther rang me herself, if I'd said no I reckon I would of literally broken her heart! Miss Madi was desperate for some cuppies for her lovely mum who always gets Happy Cakes for everyone else. I kinda wished I'd had more time to create something spectacular with the cool theme that Madi wanted, Smurfs!! Happy Birthday Miss Stacey, hope you enjoyed your cakes xo P.S I hope I don't get an in flux of calls from daughters wanting last minute cakes for their mums hehehehehe.

Happy Happy Cakes!
Here's some Mr Happy Happy Cakes I made for a friend's 40th today. It's a bit of an in joke which started a couple of years back when he wore a Mr Happy shirt. Let's just say there's a whole lot of irony going on with these & he calls them "Ironic Happy Cakes", which is appropriate considering....
After I made this one I was inspired to make a Little Miss Giggles! Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you all have a great day and get your giggles on ;-)

Dr Seuss Wedding Cake
Hi,
There are some types of cakes that you'll probably only get to make once and I think this is one of them!! When I first met Kelly-Louise I immediately thought this girl is fun, then when she handed me a copy of her wedding invite, I thought maybe a little wacky too hehehehehe. Kelly-Louise wanted me to create a Dr Suess inspired wedding cake, but not just a subtle hint of Dr Seuss but full blown Dr Seuss all the way. Kelly-Louise & Les were having a Dr Seuss themed wedding!! Wow, I was so in my element, this was going to be fun. But would I succeed? "Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed." Fun it was. I had the most funnest time creating this cake and was just lovin the end result sick hehehehe. This cake required me to get in touch with my inner Dr Seuss and "Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!" Kelly-Louise & Les THANK YOU for chosing an amazing theme and THANK YOU for allowing me to create this cake for you. I was sad to see this one go, but Dr Seuss once said "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." Congratulations to you both I hope you had an amazing day xo.
A big thankyou to Stephen & Hayley from STEPHEN LANE PHOTOGRAPHY for the amazing photos of this cake. Somehow they've managed to make my cake look awesome hehehehe. Thank you both.

Amara's Christening Cake.
Good morning all! Here's a christening cake with a little difference! Since visiting Disneyland Amara (now just over 2) has been a mickey/minnie mouse fan. So when mum ordered this cake she wanted to stick within this theme. I know a true Mickey/Minnie cake would be red and black but we adapted this a little. Hope you enjoy your cake Amara ;-)

House Warming.
So here's a cake I made for Renai. Renai has brought you such cakes as The Sleepover and The Frogs Picnic. I love creating cakes for Renai, two reasons, 1) it's always something that I haven't done before and 2) she lets me go crazy! This was no exception. Renai and her lovely family celebrated the purchase of their new house, with a house warming do. And we all know that with any good do comes a good cake ;-) Thank you again Renai for allowing me to create for you, I enjoyed my time on this cake!!

Harry Potter
I was wondering how long it would be before I made some Harry Potter cakes!! Well finally I got my chance. Lynda contacted me to make some Harry Potter cakes for her daughters 16th birthday. This was the 3rd time Lynda had tried to book me, I couldn't say no again. When I delivered the cakes to Lynda's house I was amazed by the effort that was going into the party, all the decor from the dinner hall, entrance ways, and even a potions cabinet. Amazing. I hope you enjoyed your night and the cakes. P.S Would love to see some photos ;-)

We all know how I love new designs, well this one is no exception! I had so much fun making this for little Ava who celebrated her 3rd birthday today. Mum Adele, said that was all that Ava had wanted! So from the teaser photo to the whole cake here it is, Tinkerbell's house! Thank you so much Adele for letting me create this for you, despite our little caketastrophe ;-)

Something a little different....
I know I've been missing in action lately, but I still have a cake to show you! My lovely SIL was married on the weekend in Byron Bay and she went a little mexican!! Bec sent me through a photo of a cake she really loved, but of course we added and built to it. I had a lot of fun making this, in particular the calaveras!! I forgot to take pics, but I did capture this one! Hopefully I'll get a hold of some more soon, to show you in particular the different calaveras. Big congrats to Bec & Stefano, a very gorgeous couple xox. P.S Design credit of the cake goes to The Bleeding Heart Bakery.

Exploding Medical Cake!
An exploding cake with a difference! Made this medical exploding cake for Rowena's sister who celebrated her 21st over the weekend. Rowena really wanted the exploding cake but with medical type 'thingys' coming out of the top. I don't think I could get sick of these cakes. Hope you all enjoyed it and had a lovely evening!!

Sally's Beach Cake
Sally celebrated her birthday in luau/beach style!! She wanted a cake to fit the theme. I proposed several different designs for her, and she decided on this one! I loved making the thongs! Such a fun cake.

18 Things She Likes!
Now here's a cake that probably won't make sense, but it does when the theme is "18 things she likes"! I made this cake for Danni who celebrated her 18th birthday yesterday. It was a fancy dress party and people had to come dressed as something to do with the list! Happy birthday Danni. I hope you enjoyed the cake ;-)

The Sleepover Cake.
My new favourite cake hehehe. Renai's little girl is celebrating her 8th birthday tonight with a traditional sleepover party! Of course any sleepover party needs a sleepover cake. I had heaps of fun making this. I love love love it. Another hard cake to let go of but I know it's going to a well loved family!! Enjoy Ella. Happy birthday. I love making cakes ;-)

Do-do-do-do Dora!
So here's a cake I made on Monday for Lucia's 3rd birthday! I've made this cake before (slightly varied) it had a fairy on top instead, mum Lisa wanted a similar cake but requested a Dora instead. Dora was hard work hehehe, so many little components to her! I didn't get a photo of it, but yes backpack and map are there on her back ;-) Oh I love my spotty border and bow, something different! Hope you liked your cake Lucia, happy birthday!!

A Treasure Chest.
Here's a cake I made for Katrina's little man who turned 4 over the weekend!! A new design for me, which is always fun. After such a terrible weekend, I realised after the cake was sent out that I forgot one thing on it.......the key hole. So of course I'm not entirely happy with, but then I suppose I'm my own worst critic!! I'm told though the cake was loved by all, which is the most important thing ;-)
