In the beginning.....the start of some pretty cakes at layering stage.

The start of a flower cascading cake. I loved making this cake for the beautiful Jenna and Luke. First time I'd ever made one of these. All tiers were uneven height which made for such a dramatic look. 

Ahhh a boy cake. I do love making boys cakes. It's a rare occurrence. I'm not sure why. Boys eat cake don't they?? A WWE cake for one of lovely customers. 

Flashback Friday. This still goes down as one of my most favourite and memorable cakes. I made this back in 2011 for Kelli and Les who's wedding was Dr Seuss themed!! I saw the happily married couple only a couple of weeks ago and their expecting twins!! Girls to. Mmmmm I wonder what themed wedding they might have hehehehe. 

Some pretty little pastel baby shower cakes for one of my previous brides expecting her second child. I feel kind of lucky to remain a part of their lives if only in the form of cake!! PS Congratulations Mark and Allysha on the safe arrival of your beautiful little girl Sienna xx 

One of my clever students made this cake at the Big Cakes 101 course. I love seeing the end results of their work. 

Big Cakes 102 brought a bit of stress to all involved......Square cakes can be a little frustrating, but the end results were amazing. I do love teaching! 

Naked hot vanilla cakes. Sounds kind of sexy when you say it out loud!!! 

Said bye to my gorgeous nephew "Jacobean" who leaves us to start his new adventure in Brisbane :-( I miss you already xx 

It's been such a roller coaster time lately both personally and professionally. Instagram is a way for me to capture both these moments. I love capturing the little things and big things that go on in my life.

Hi......

Well hello there......

I'm not sure who's still out there so I could just be talking to myself hehehehe. And that's ok. I've been thinking lately that I might start writing on my blog again. It seems that it's more personal over here than the website, not sure. Is it just another thing for me to have to update? Cause between facebook, twitter, flickr, website and so the list goes on, I actually just don't know what the best platform is anymore. If you're still out there I'd love to hear from you. I might come back later tonight with a whole bunch of pics ;-) There are so many. I've been on a bit of a roller coaster ride lately with work and home life, so there's so much to tell. In the meantime though I'll leave you with this picture of an owl cake I made recently for a very lovely customer of mine. I've been lucky enough to make many cakes for her, including birthdays, wedding and now her babyshower cake. I have truly fallen in love with this cake and every time I look at it, it makes me smile.

Tis the season for cupcakes again!!

I made these for Kristina's babyshower today. This little cake was accompanied by 40 cupcakes with some little flags to match. Yummy chocolate cake with some even more yummier vanilla cakes. I do love a good vanilla cupcake, my favourite. Hope you had a lovely day Kristina and enjoyed the cakes.

Baby Cot Cake

This cake was made for a lovely previous customer (who I'd made their wedding dessert table) and ordered by her lovely sister-in-law Marita. Gees say that 3 times! Marita ordered this cake for Julie's babyshower held today. I really enjoyed making this cake and was reluctant to hand it over. It was made a little easier knowing that it was going to a lovely home. Hope you enjoyed your cake Julie!

T&CO cupcakes...

It's always nice when customers come back, it validates in your mind that you must be doing something right hehehehe. So it was nice to receive an e-mail from Skye recently asking if I could make her some more cakes. The subject line in Skye's e-mail was "first the wedding, now the baby shower", very cute. Skye had a picture of some Tiffany & Co cuppies she wanted me to recreate, so here they are. I hope you enjoyed them Skye, thank you so much.

Sweet Peas!

I can't go past showing you these little cuties! 2 peas in a pod cuppies for a baby shower that Daniela organised for her friend today. Sex unknown, so I rouged up one pea in each pod for a little extra added cuteness hehehe. Hope you and your friend enjoyed them Daniela ;-)

A special present....

I think I'm pretty lucky to create for people for their special occasions and I think I'm even luckier when I get to do it more than once!! I made this present cake for little Milla who celebrated her 1st birthday last weekend. I had so much fun creating this one, so girly and pretty. Happy birthday Milla, I hope you enjoyed your day ;-)
P.S I should say that this cake was inspired by an image I saw over a year ago!! I thought it was so pretty. I can't remember who the caker was, but thank you for inspiring me ;-)

It's a Girl!!

There must be something in the water lately! Quite a few orders for expectant mums. Mum Debbie ordered these for her daughter who is expecting, you guessed it a girl!! All decorations are hand made including the teeny tiny butterfly!

1st Birthdays

I'm well and truly past the whole 1st birthday event, however, it's such a special one. I made these cupcakes for Jaxon who has just had his first birthday. Mum wanted something that kids would relate too and she suggested the bees, balloons, dinosaurs etc. My favourite out of this collection is definitely the smiley face, it's just so happy!!

Well, it's going to be a boy. Made these for a soon to be mum's baby shower.

Boy or Girl??

Some simple and yet classic happy cakes for a mum to be. Not knowing what she is having, the colour theme was obviously yellow and white.

One of my girlfriends asked me to make her some cakes for her baby shower. She didn't want 'babyish' type cakes, she wanted pretty.
