Introducing Dillon & Sally.

I have so many beautiful updates for the social pages, and this one truly is gorgeous. Sally and Dillon were married on Magnetic Island on the beach. Their reception also was practically on the beach, beautiful white marquees were sit up just up from the sand. Sally truly was a gorgeous bride to work. A lot of work went into this wedding, but between Sally and her mum nothing was too much trouble. I love the fresh citrus tones of this wedding, so pretty. There are so many beautiful pictures from this wedding I had a very hard time choosing.

Happy caking.

Introducing Murray & Klara!

Back in March I had the pleasure of creating a very stunning and elegant cake for Klara and her now husband Murray. Klara was all about simple elegance with a dash of bling! The top tier is hazlenut and the bottom was raspberry white chocolate. Mmmmmmm. Congratulations to you both and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be apart of your special day.

Introducing Madison!

Morning All!

A little while ago I made my very first Harry Potter cakes for a young girl turning 16. Mum Lynda went to an amazing job of creating the perfect party. When I delivered the cake I was amazed at what she had done, a potions cabinet with all the potions, the dining hall, the entrance and so on. Lynda said, "I love preparing for parties, decorating, making games, and coming up with lots of ways to carry the theme through. Our house was quite easy to transform in to a castle type looking building, and the dining hall was just fantastic. It was truly a magical night, filled with lots of sugar, Harry Potter rituals, talking hats, floating candles, potions, treasure hunts, spells, and much competition between the Hogwart houses fighting to win the Triwizard cup." I was thrilled to see photos from the night, I wished I'd been invited ;-)

Milla's 1st Birthday.

Hi Everyone!

Time for another social pages update. Here's a cake I made for the ever so cute Milla. I've had the pleasure of making cakes for Milla on a couple of occasions now, so I feel very lucky. The 1st birthday is such a milestone in any child's life, and Marita (mum) has celebrated this moment with such style. I love the table setup that Marita has created. Just lovely. Thank you so much for sharing these delightful photos.

Happy caking.

Little Mr HC turns 5!

Every year I say that I'm going to block out time to make my children's birthday cakes. Every year I make their cake, but it's always something I have to squeeze in to an already busy week. I swear that the next year I'll take less bookings, but it doesn't seem to happen. This year was no different. A couple of weeks ago Will chose his cake, this year straight out of a book. I had every intention of something else, but I suppose what the child wants the child gets!! His party was planned for the weekend, however the poor thing was sick so we had to cancel it. By cancelling the party I just presumed that the cake was cancelled as well! Not quite so. I was informed by Will that he still wanted a cake. Even though I'd baked the cake, that was all I'd done. So yesterday I madly whipped his cake up. Took me a couple of hours, so please don't look too closely ;-)

This morning when Will saw the cake I got a reaction like I've never received before from anyone. It started with a little bit of "I HATE IT" followed by "THAT'S NOT LIKE THE PICTURE IN THE BOOK, I HATE IT, THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANTED". Imagine this with a whole heap of crying & screaming thrown in just for balance. I was mortified, hurt, angry and well every other emotion you could think of. I think I was counting my lucky stars that he wasn't a paying customer! It's funny though when Will picked the cake out he specifically said to me, "Mama make sure the boy looks like the picture, he has to look the same. I will be upset if he's not, but I'll still eat the cake". I kid you not. At this point alarm bells should of rung, as Will is a very literal child, but no, I just thought he was being cute. How wrong was I!! And what did I do? Well instead of blue pants on the boy I made them orange! Orange is Will's favourite colour, I thought it would be nice. Oh and I didn't have any green gel so I didn't do the goo and bubbles around the swamp monster.

Anyway I'm rambling now, so I'll finish up. With a whole lot of I'm sorry's and I really do like the cake Mama's he went to school. By the time school pick up came round everyone in his class had heard about the swamp monster cake and how much he loved it and how much he loved me. Awwwww this kids got me and all was forgotten!!

So happy birthday Wilby. Love you lots. Mama. xo

Full credit for the design of this cake goes to the fabulous Debbie Brown. This cake is from her fabulous book Gorgeous and Gruesome.Little Mr HC with his cake!Who would of thought you could have so much fun with fondant swamp monster eyes!He didn't even eat any cake! I kid you not. All he did was dismember it and pull off all the fondant decorations ;-)

Introducing Paula & Dan

Welcome to another post to our Social Pages! I thought it would be a nice idea to share with everyone the entire event that our little Happy Cakes make appearances at!! See how they fit in, see what our customers are doing at their soiree be it weddings, birthdays or just because. As long as people are willing to share with me their photos from their special day I will be willing to share them here. To be honest for me, it's nice to see as well, conside
ring there are times where I don't even meet the customers or I don't get to see the effort that people have gone to. So remember if there's a Happy Cake at your next event I would love to see photos. Feel free to e-mail me a collection of photos at happycakesinfo@gmail.com and I will be in touch soon after!

Introducing Paula & Dan! This is one colourful wedding! With so many photos to chose from I found it quite difficult. I love the feel of this modern day wedding.
