Ok now here's a new design!! Chanel. Cassandra wanted some special cuppies for her special day. Us Mums tend to miss out on the whole birthday thing. We tend to go all out for the kids and husbands and by the time it gets to us, well we (me!!) couldn't be bothered!! So I think it's nice that Cassandra ordered her own cakes!! Happy Birthday.

Cookie Favours!!

Proof I can make things other than cupcakes!! Here's some babyshower favour cookies I made for Rachel who presented these to her guests recently. These were a mix of gingerbread and vanilla flavours. I should also mention these were of course hand made and baked from scratch!! So if you need cookies in the future remember me!!

It's a Girl!!

There must be something in the water lately! Quite a few orders for expectant mums. Mum Debbie ordered these for her daughter who is expecting, you guessed it a girl!! All decorations are hand made including the teeny tiny butterfly!

A Masquerade Month!!

Well it was a month of masquerade parties here at Happy Cakes. Briohny celebrated her 30th and Linda celebrated her 50th with the theme. These were fun to make. We all know I love a new theme!! Yes ALL the decorations are made by me with sugar!!

Patchwork Quilt Cake

I made this cake for Kirsty who owns Pompom Rouge here in Townsville. Kirsty asked if I could make her a quilt cake for her grand opening. I have this tendency in saying yes to some cakes without thinking about the how I'm going to do it bit. I have to say though fear and the fact that I've said yes to someone is generally a good motivation for me to get the job done!! The only boundaries I had was colour and lots of it. I can see why too, Kirsty's shop is amazing, SO much colour. I'm no quilter, but after walking through her shop I wanted to take it up!! Gorgeous. The blanket bit alone of the cake and nothing else took me 5 hrs!! It was a labour of love. Kirsty's reaction when she saw the cake though, made it worthwhile. That's the bit about making cakes I love!!

Pretty in Pink!!

Sometimes I get blown away by the compliments and feedback from customers and fans!! I also can't believe that people from far and wide want my cakes!! Samantha contacted me way back in September asking me if I could make some toppers for her daughter's 3rd birthday. She lives in Tasmania!! Well here they are, I do hope they arrive safely (I say biting my finger nails!!)!!
