Tis the season...

Well, if the Xmas tree being up in my house for the last two weeks hasn't put me in festive mood, these little cupcakes surely have! BHP Billiton has kicked off the season with their first family day, which was held today. Unfortunately it was completely rained out. I do hope the next family fun day this Sunday will be a little brighter.

Happy Birthday to you...

A special request was made by Felicity and Talitha to make some very special happy cakes for Brianna who turned 18 over the weekend. Happy 18th birthday Brianna. I have to admit I love the sparkly glitter....

Hearts, Butterflies & Flowers

Made these today for Katrina who turned 18. Her Mum asked for pretty, pink and very girly, with a mention of hearts and butterflies. Taking inspiration from that I painstakingly handmade all the flowers and butterflies.
I wanted the hearts to somehow blend in with the other designs, this is the first time I've used transfers to do this. Even though it was a painful, painful process the end result was pretty stunning.
My new new favourite happy cake!

Happy Birthday to ...

Christine. From your lovely daughter Sarah. Sarah requested purple and red vanilla and caramel cupcakes for her mum. I wonder if my daughter will order me beautiful cupcakes for my birthday!

Here comes the bride...

Congratulations to Rikki and Zane who were married today. I was lucky enough to be asked to make their special little happy cakes. I will admit when Rikki asked me to make her wedding cupcakes only a few weeks ago, fear set in! My first ever wedding. No pressure at all! My husband did say to me what's the difference between these cupcakes and those for someones birthday? Well as I was told today by a fellow female who totally "gets it", birthday's come every year, weddings only once. Only women understand each other!I think today was the hottest day ever, it was foul. The cutting cake had to be removed from the top tier and refrigerated as my hand made chocolate panels were slowly starting to droop! Luckily I had a few spare cupcakes to put in it's place. I then had the issue of flies, hence the mosquito net! It actually looked really nice, made it more of a feature.
As I was unloading my boxes from the car I met Colleen, florist and owner of Ciao Bella. We helped each other with our loads and she shared a few tips and secrets for future weddings! Thanks Colleen. She created these divine larger than life martini glasses which were filled with roses. Absolutely stunning.
All in all I'm quite proud of my first wedding, I think it turned out just right!

Happy 1st Birthday

1st birthdays, they're such a milestone. These special little happy cakes are for Elijah who celebrates his first birthday today. Happy birthday Elijah I hope you enjoyed your happy cakes or at least the icing!

Boo!

Ok, well I know we don't celebrate Halloween in Australia, but I figure it's just another excuse to make cupcakes! And if you ask Pulverenti Denist it's all for the kids. I wished my dentist handed out cupcakes to me when I was a kid!!
